Coruña’s Municipal Water Company entrusts OFITECO the Implementation of the Emergency Action Plan for Cecebre Dam

The job involves the necessary actions to handle possible emergency situations resulting from anomalous behaviour or failures in Cecebre dam, located in the province of A Coruña.

EMALCSA has awarded OFITECO the Cecebre dam’s Emergency Action Plan Implementation. This plan involves the execution of necessary actions to handle any possible emergencies resulting from anomalous behaviours or failures in Cecebre dam. These faults could affect the population area of Concello de Cambre and its surroundings, in the province of A Coruña.

The Emergency Plan Implementation Project will be executed in compliance with the following objectives:

• Build a suitably located Emergency Management Office with its corresponding equipment.
• Develop a Communication System between Dam owner’s control room and all the organisms involved in the case of an emergency (Civil Protection, Hydrographic Confederations, Delegations and Sub delegations of Government, Municipal Councils, etc.).
• Design a Warning System for the affected population in the first half hour since the announcement of worst-case scenario. This system will involve the placement of warning sirens in strategic places.
• Create an awareness campaign through informative actions directed to the potential affected population and the local authorities.

Once again, OFITECO leaves its mark as a leader in the Dam Safety field by being awarded with this project.
