New Measures to Strengthen Railway Fencing Safety in the Henares Corridor

Portada » New Measures to Strengthen Railway Fencing Safety in the Henares Corridor

The renewal and upgrading of railway fencing will enhance infrastructure safety at various locations across the network managed by ADIF. The works will be carried out in the municipalities of Madrid, Tres Cantos, Coslada, Alcalá de Henares, Meco, Azuqueca de Henares, Alovera and Cabanillas del Campo, and will include both the replacement of existing elements and the installation of new fencing.

The technical assistance service will cover the different stages of the works, from the initial review of project documentation and verification of setting-out activities to the monitoring of construction. Supervision will also cover affected utilities, surveying, environmental management and health and safety, with the Supervision and Control Plan establishing the criteria governing the monitoring of the works.

During the construction phase, material quality, execution controls, measurements and compliance with quality, environmental and safety requirements will be monitored. Document management will also play an important role, supported by digital tools and ADIF’s Common Data Environment (CDE) to ensure the traceability of the information generated throughout the works.

The service also includes the management and monitoring of incidents, potential project modifications and the relocation of affected utilities, together with the preparation of reports and technical documentation. Once the works are completed, the final documentation will be prepared, including the As-Built Project and the information required to support the subsequent operation and maintenance of the infrastructure.

The works will involve specialists in railway infrastructure, surveying, quality, environmental management and information management, combining different areas of expertise to provide comprehensive supervision of the project. OFITECO’s involvement in this technical assistance service will bring its experience in railway infrastructure supervision and contribute to improving the safety and preservation of network assets.
